If 2016 taught me anything, it's that people have no problem dividing themselves and then lying to themselves that they have made the right choice, one they didn't actually have to make to begin with. A lot of people I once respected and valued their opinions started expressing the exact viewpoint of whatever news source or culture they were raised in out of nowhere, without listening to any reason. People I've never heard talk about politics or religion became the biggest babies about them and I guess we're no longer friends because of it. Their choice, but I'm sure they're blaming me.
I may not express it, but despite my undying hatred for people, I care about their existence, purely for selfish reasons. I want my friends to make the most out of their lives and surroundings. That being said, I honestly hope more people spend 2017 bettering themselves and those around them instead of building walls and tearing down relationships.
Probably the next president and still a better
choice than what we had this year.
